# Rails

**Rails** enable the seamless transfer between fiat currency and stablecoins, connecting the traditional financial system ([Bank Accounts](broken://pages/0134c9d751c1c1e00a639f2dadfe966be6e9575c)) to the digital asset ecosystem ([Wallets](broken://pages/4d38b5b8bfdb82a20f6bcb4aa09b3b8a7cddae9d)).

Once configured, Rails require no additional orchestration to convert between fiat and stablecoins.

For example:

* **Fiat to Stablecoin Rail**: User deposits fiat currency (GBP) into an Agant [Virtual Bank Account](/Y83ivqmfOiUspagNyFg6/concepts/virtual-bank-account.md). The platform automatically mints and transfers the equivalent in stablecoins (GBPA) to their configured wallet.
* **Stablecoin to Fiat Rail**: User sends stablecoins (GBPA) to an Agant custody wallet. The platform burns the stablecoins and securely transfers the equivalent fiat currency to the user’s designated bank account.

Rails can be viewed and managed using both the [Agant Dashboard](https://dashboard.agant.io) and the [Rails API](broken://pages/18ab52ef8e3cbc0200e9864cad22e407ad402a26).

Activity that occurs on a Rail can be queried using the [Transactions API](broken://pages/a434bad19de80eb4a866262abc17e6d8c1fdb4e7).

{% hint style="info" %}
By default onboarded accounts have their first GBP to GBPA and GBPA to GBP rail pre-configured.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.agant.io/Y83ivqmfOiUspagNyFg6/concepts/rails.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
